I’m Courtney, an urban homesteader and steward of the soil, bees, and community based in Orange County, California. For over 10 years, my family and I have transformed our city yard into Sokugarden — a vibrant edible garden and apiary where we grow food, medicinal herbs, and raise backyard bees.

I’m passionate about sustainable living, teaching 4H beekeeping, mentoring new beekeepers, and crafting natural body care products from our garden’s herbs and beeswax. My work includes edible landscape consulting and pollinator-friendly garden design, helping others create thriving urban homesteads.

If you’re interested in growing your own food, starting beekeeping, or living more sustainably in the city, I’d love to connect and support your journey.

From hive to garden to apothecary, Sokugarden now offers over 25 handcrafted body care and culinary goods made with homegrown herbs, beeswax, and love. These small-batch creations are free from synthetic ingredients and made in rhythm with the seasons. Our offerings include:

  • Organic, raw, untreated, unfiltered local honey

  • Organic beeswax candles

  • Herbal teas and culinary dried herbs

  • Tinctures & infused oils

  • Organic tallow-based body care

  • Natural soaps, bath salts, and body scrubs

  • Serums, salves, body butters, and lip balms

  • Natural deodorant & bug repellent balm

  • Dog treats & homegrown catnip

Through Sokugarden, I also offer consultations for edible landscape design, pollinator-supportive planting, and beekeeping mentorship for those looking to start their own journey. Whether you’re dreaming of your first hive, craving more connection to the land, or simply want to grow something meaningful, I’d love to walk alongside you.
